The V1190 is a small, yet highly-functional netbook. Just to clear the air, there is mountain of difference between a netbook and a notebook. A netbook is usually smaller in screen size (between 7 inches to 10 inches), works on a weaker processor (never dual core, usually old celeron chips or Atom) and runs on an older OS (usually Linux or Windows XP but never a MAC OS and rarely Vista). The Vivid V1190 and it’s cheaper alternative the V1100 both have 10-inch screens. The V1190 has the following specs:

* powered by Intel Atom N270 with 512 KB L2 cache, 1.60 GHz clock speed
* Genuine Windows XP Home with 1 GB memory DDR2
* built-in 1.3 MP webcam
* Wifi-ready
* 3-in-1 card reader
* 160 GB hard disk drive
* price: P22,999.00 (US$459.98)

There is no DVD or CD drive, but it compensates by having higher storage capacity (160 GB) as compared to most netbooks that have 20 GB or so, in storage capacity. There are USB ports that will allow the user to attach it to an external device. With a 10.2 WXGA LCD screen, colors are clearer and the keyboard is easier to work with. With its price, college kids can probably afford to buy one. It’s lightweight at around 1.28 kilos including the battery. The V1190 comes in red, blue, pink, white and black.
